Couple Caught in Painful Pattern

COUPLES THERAPY IN SANTA MONICA

I help couples understand the pattern they’re caught in and learn how to interrupt it, so they can move toward a more honest, connected, and respectful relationship.

Understand the pattern.
Strengthen your connection.

Understand yourself.
Create meaningful change.

You may recognize this

You find yourselves having the same argument over and over again. One of you pursues, the other shuts down. Attempts to talk turn into criticism, defensiveness, or withdrawal.

Over time, what once felt close and alive may now feel distant, tense, or uncertain.

You may be asking:

  • Can we repair this?

  • Why do we keep ending up here?

  • Is there a different way to be together?

How I can help

Together, we will slow the pattern down and understand what is happening between you.

We will look at:

  • The roles each of you fall into during conflict

  • The protective strategies that keep you stuck

  • The meaning you make of each other's behavior

From there, we begin practicing something different.

Not just better communication—but a more honest, respectful, and connected way of relating.

A MORE DIRECT, ENGAGED APPROACH

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a certified Relational Life Therapist.
My work is both compassionate and direct. I will not simply sit back and listen -
I will actively help you see the pattern clearly and interrupt it in real time.

Clients often describe me as gentle, yet firm and direct.

The goal is not just insight, but lasting change that carries into your daily life.

  • “She is well versed, fair and equitable with our time together and we always leave feeling like we've grown in some way. We recently got married and we can attribute much of our repair techniques to her, she gave us all of the tools to understand each other better and repair even faster.”

What clients have shared

  • “When I first began therapy with Jennifer, I was going through a divorce and felt completely devastated—like I had lost myself. I struggled to find the strength and confidence to navigate life as a single mom. … I’ve developed greater confidence, strength, and self-love. I’ve become a better mom, sister, friend, daughter, and professional. I am incredibly grateful to Jennifer and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking meaningful, lasting change.”

About Jennifer

Before becoming a therapist, I spent years in the corporate world and then running a family business. My own experiences—both rewarding and challenging—deepened my understanding of how relational patterns shape us.

I bring that lived experience, along with extensive clinical training, into my work.

I believe we all develop ways of protecting ourselves that once made sense—but can later limit connection, growth, and fulfillment—and that change becomes possible when we begin to understand and shift those patterns.

Together, we work to understand those patterns so you can begin to live and relate differently.
